We're five days into November, which is the eleventh of the twelve months that make up a year on the Gregorian standard calendar. It's getting cold. People are falling ill. It's the perfect time to stop procrastinating on that book you've been conceptualizing. It is, after all, National Novel Writing Month.

Authors young and old, each year, gather and compete by writing entire novels in a single month. There are rewards, but I think the real rewards are in the friendships we make along the way. (Assuming you're not one of those antisocial writers, which, coincidentally, most of us are.) So, please, help yourself. Start on that book. It's not too late.
